Smartwatch
Inception:
When smartwatches like the Galaxy Gear came out, I took one look at them and knew I could make something of comparable design and functionality. I had all the skills required and had yet to test the limits of my knowledge of embedded systems and thought this would be a good opportunity to do so. The compact nature of smartwatches would necessitate learning about optimizing power consumption, processor timing, and memory usage; areas of the Arduino platform that I had yet to explore.
Current Status:
Currently the smartwatch project is on a hiatus. The shorter daylight hours and lack of ideas on trimming down the smartwatch complexity lead to a lack of motivation to continue on with the project. However, I'm currently in a brainstorming stage, thinking up ideas for v2 and contemplating a large shift in architecture from AVR to Propeller chips.
